We give downtown businesses a stronger voice through marketing, events, advocacy, and collaboration, because when local businesses thrive, our entire community thrives.

Rooted in a historic district.
Downtown Kingman grew up along the railroad in the 1880s, its streets lined with stone and brick storefronts that still stand today. The Hotel Beale, the Santa Fe depot, and the shops of Beale Street and Andy Devine Avenue formed the commercial heart of Mohave County.
In 1986, the 300 and 400 blocks of Andy Devine Avenue were listed on the National Register of Historic Places, recognizing the district that our members work in every day.
The association carries that legacy forward, helping the businesses inside these historic buildings stay open, active, and part of the story for the next generation.

The heart of the Mother Road.
When Route 66 was commissioned in 1926, it ran straight through downtown Kingman, turning the district into a destination for travelers crossing the American Southwest. Motels, diners, and service stations sprang up to welcome them.
Kingman proudly calls itself the Heart of Historic Route 66, and downtown is where that heritage lives most vividly, from the Powerhouse and the Arizona Route 66 Museum to the Gateway Arch that spans Beale Street.
Our members keep the spirit of the Mother Road alive, giving today's visitors a reason to park, walk, shop, and stay a while.

Built by the railroad.
Kingman began as a simple railroad siding on the Atlantic and Pacific line, later part of the Santa Fe system. The first train arrived in 1883, and the tracks brought the settlers, miners, and merchants who built the town.
The 1907 Santa Fe depot on Andy Devine Avenue still serves Amtrak passengers today, and in Locomotive Park the great steam engine No. 3759 rests after crossing more than two million miles of track.
That railroad heritage is woven into downtown itself, and the association helps the businesses along those historic streets keep it part of everyday life.
